Description with scientific purpose:
The training school will be held in the Faculty of Science of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) from the 3rd to the 6th of September 2019. Its aim is to contribute to increase the background of young PhD students on Quantum Technologies with ultracold atoms from internationally known experts in the field, both experimentalists and theoretists. Lectures will cover a variety of subjects from atomic clocks and quantum transport to interferometry and sensing, with both bosonic and fermionic systems. See application.
The training school will last 4 days and it will consist of 6 lectures of 3 hours each separated into two sessions of 1.5 hours and given by internationally known lecturers. There will be also a poster session and a session on contributed talks from participants. During the training school, the participants will have the oportunity to learn some of the most cutting edge results from world wide experts on the field. In addition, they will be able to discuss with the lecturers abouts their own current research and to meet other students in similar research areas with whom they will share their results and experiences.
